Howarth Ukulele Group at The Bay Horse Pub, Oxenhope, West Yorkshire, England - 19th April, 2016

Making a slight change from my usual films, I just wanted to share this wonderful group of ukulele players upon whom I encountered in a pub in rural West Yorkshire. The Howarth Ukulele group meet and play together at The Bay Horse Pub in Oxenhope on Tuesday afternoons. This film shows clips of the group playing some 'pop' classics from years gone by, including Karma Chameleon, Delilah and Eye of The Tiger.

This was great entertainment, from a group of talented ukulele players.

Hotel Review: Hotel Eva, Faro, Algarve, Portugal - March 2016

Hotel Review: Hotel Eva, Faro, Algarve, Portugal - March 2016

I stayed at the Hotel Eva in Faro in March 2016, two of us stayed in a standard room, bed & breakfast for 4 nights, which cost 332 Euro. The hotel is a good modern hotel, in a great location, central in Faro, overlooking the marina and next door to both the bus station and railway station. The airport is about a 7-10 minute taxi ride away (15 Euro), although we used the bus, which cost just over 2 Euro each.

The check in-process at the hotel was rather long, and queues do develop at reception, although it must be said that the reception staff are meticulous, and speak excellent English. Their attention to detail and customer service cannot be faulted.

Our room was spacious and airy, the bed was comfortable and we had a balcony with a city view. There are balconies with marina views, but those rooms were full. The breakfast buffet was vast, and the quality of the food excellent. The hotel has lovely rooftop open air areas including a swimming pool, lounge and alfresco dining area. I would certainly consider staying at the Hotel Eva again in future.

Faro is a municipality, southernmost city and seat of the district of the same name, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, to read more about Faro, click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faro,_Portugal .

This film features exterior views of the hotel, the lobby, reception, a room inspection of our room – room 327, Restaurante Harune, breakfast buffet, views from the restaurant balcony, the restaurant alfresco dining area, Restaurante Ossónoba, rooftop lounge, rooftop swimming pool and lift / elevators.

Train Journey from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Malmö (Sweden) - 7th January,...

This film features views from a train travelling from
Copenhangen Central station in Denmark, to Malmö Central Station in Sweden.
This international journey involves crossing the Øresund Bridge, which is the
longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe, which carries both the railway
line and the E20 motorway between Denmark and Sweden. The journey between
Denmark and Malmö is interrupted with a change of trains at Copenhagen Airport
for passport control purposes. This proved to be minimally inconvenient.
Passports were also checked upon arrival in Sweden at Hyllie.

This film features views and some identification of
locations along the way, including: Copenhagen Central Station / Københavns
Hovedbanegård, Ørestad, Tårnby, Copenhagen Airport / Københavns Lufthavn,
Kastrup, E20 Motorway, Øresund Bridge, Hyllie, Triangeln and Malmö Central
Station / Malmö centralstation.

Hotel Review: Hotel Tiffany, Copenhagen, Denmark - January 2016

Hotel Review: Hotel Tiffany, Copenhagen, Denmark - January
2016

We stayed at the Hotel Tiffany in Copenhagen for 4 nights
bed and breakfast in January 2016. The room cost 2,901 Danish Krone, which
equates to around £290. This is actually fairly reasonable for accommodation in
Copenhagen, which is quite an expensive city to stay in. The hotel is very
close to Copenhagen Central Station, roughly a 7 minute walk away.

Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a friendly
receptionist who spoke perfect English (all of the staff I encountered did). We
were given a room on the ground floor, at which I was quite disappointed. I
always request a room on a high floor, however the type of room I had paid for
was ground floor only. My initial disappointment was turned to happiness upon
entering the room, which was very nice indeed - warm and cosy.

The room was comfortably furnished to a high standard, and
the bathroom whilst small was clean and accessible with a walk in wet room
style shower.

Breakfast is delivered to the room, which has a fridge,
microwave and toaster. Pate, cheese, biscuits, yoghurt, fruit, milk and fruit
juice are put in the fridge on a daily basis, and each morning at approximately
7am, warm bread rolls are hung outside the door. It was very nice, and we
enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and would certainly recommend it to others.

This film features views around the hotel reception and our
ground floor bedroom and bathroom.
