The train crosses the rive rhine twice on this journey, firstly over the Eisenbrücke, before going through Mainz Römisches Theater Station, Mainz Süd, Mainz Hauptbahnhof, Mainz Nord, and then past the huge Rhine container port on the banks of the River Rhine before crossing the Rhine for the second time on the Nordbrücke (formerly the Kaiserbrücke). From here the journey goes through Wiesbaden Ost into Wiesbaden Hautbahnhof.
