It is the second-tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom, after the concrete tower at the Emley Moor transmitting station. The glass-clad pyramidal tower has 72 habitable floors, with a viewing gallery and open-air observation deck -- the UK's highest -- on the 72nd floor, at a height of 244.3 metres (802 ft). This film features views of The Shard from St. Thomas Street below, before views from all angles over London from the 72nd floor observation deck are featured, these include London's iconic hi-tech buildings including the Walkie Talkie, the Cheesegrater, the Gherkin and older more historic buildings including The Tower of London and Tower Bridge, as well as HMS Belfast moroed below.
