Yesterday I visited #FestungKönigstein, a #medieval #fortress that sits on top of a mountainous plateau. The fortress is vast and around 400 years old, although records of a fort on the site go back to the 13th Century. This is the view North from the fort over the #Saxony #countryside in Eastern #Germany close to the Czech border. The area is referred to as #SächsischeSchweiz (Saxon Switzerland) due to the terrain.
