The leaning #Tower of #Pisa, which is the campanile or bell tower for Pisa #Cathedral. I visited Pisa for a day in August 2010 while on a #Mediterranean #cruise. I find it amusing that an #engineering flaw had made this #building so famous! #Romanesque #architecture #Italy #Italia #travel #tourism #tourist #attraction #IgersPisa

In December 2012 I had the honour of visiting the #WW2 #military #cemetery at #Oosterbeek near #Arnhem in the #Netherlands. Here lie the graves of 1,759 allied servicemen, mostly British but also Polish, Canadian, Dutch, American, Australian and New Zealand, most of whom died during the Battle of Arnhem. I was there at sunset, it was absolutely silent apart from the bird sound and in the distance somebody letting off fireworks, which sounded eerily like gunfire.
