Rio Olympic & Paralympics 2016: Rio Heroes Parade Through Leeds, West, Y...
Yorkshire's medal winning athletes from the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games were honoured in Leeds city centre on the 28th of September, 2016 with a street parade through the city of Leeds.
Six buses, filled with athletes from across Yorkshire and their families, set off from Leeds Civic Hall before following a route around the heart of the city. These athletes included: Jonny Brownlee, Alistair Brownlee, Jack Laugher,Kadeena Cox, Andrew Triggs-Hodge, Paul Bennett, Nile Wilson, Hannah Cockroft, Yona Knight-Wilson, Freddie Woodward and Tom Ransley.
The buses were accompanied by a range of musicians, costumed dancers and vehicles, including police brass bands, members of Leeds West Indian Carnival and the Yorkshire Tea van.
This film features views of the parade beginning on the corner of The Headrow and Park Row, and then the parade travelling along The Headrow.
