The incredibly intricate #sculpture on Kenneth Hodgson House on Park Row in #Leeds, is definitely worth a minute of your attention if you are walking by. The building at number 18 Park Row dates back to 1900 and was originally called Abtech House, today it is a Grade II listed building. This 116 year old sculpture pays homage to the days of the #British Empire and the dark days of colonial trading. It depicts: British sailors; a Chinese Merchant; an African slave; an Arab trader; a female figure sitting on a throne (likely Britannia or representative of Empire); North American Indians; gold miners; and a fez wearing North African figure. #IgersLeeds #LeedsBid #Leeds2023 #loveleeds #travel #tourism #tourist #leisure #life #history #culture #art #architecture #Yorkshire
